Romualdez shows hand as Speaker's son joins mining firm's board


In a rare indication of House Speaker Martin Romualdez's control of Marcventures Holdings, the congressman's young polo-playing son Andrew Julian has been nominated director of the listed nickel mining conglomerate.

It marks the first time that the media-averse Romualdez has allowed a family member's name to appear on another publicly-listed company, other than his late father's more known mining venture, Benguet Corp., the first and oldest mining company in the Philippines.
